How chiller works for Plastic Extrusion line.
Plastic is melted and pushed through a die to create continuous shapes (e.g., pipes, sheets, films). Chillers cool the extruded plastic by circulating coolant through cooling tanks or rolls.Ensures the extruded product maintains its shape and size as it solidifies. Proper cooling can enhance the surface quality of extruded products.
Applications in Plastic Extrusion Cooling Extrudate:
Water Bath Cooling: Chillers cool water baths through which the extruded plastic passes to solidify and stabilize its shape.
Roll Cooling: Cooling rolls or rollers used to shape and cool the extrudate immediately after it exits the die.
Cooling Extruder Components: Barrel Cooling: Maintain the temperature of the extruder barrel to ensure optimal processing conditions.
Screw Cooling: Keep the screw at a stable temperature to prevent overheating and degradation of the plastic.
Downstream Equipment Cooling: Post-Extrusion Processes: Cooling for equipment used in downstream processes such as cutting, coiling, or further forming.
