Air Cooled Water Chiller
Air-cooled water chillers adopt an air-cooled heat dissipation design. The built-in fan draws air into the device to dissipate heat from the condenser and lower the system temperature. No additional water cooling system is required, and installation and maintenance are relatively simple.
Air-cooled water chiller is suitable for situations where space is limited or where sufficient cooling water cannot be provided. Since cooling efficiency is affected by ambient temperature and humidity, they are typically used in applications with lower heat loads. Each model is equipped with a range of protective measures, including refrigerant high and low pressure protection, motor overload protection, and voltage phase loss and reversal alarms. These chiller units offer excellent performance and a long service life. They are particularly suitable for industries that require precise control and adjustment of chilled water temperatures, capable of accurately controlling temperatures within the range of 3°C to 50°C.
Working Principle
When the air-cooled water chiller is working, the refrigerant absorbs the heat from the cooled object in the evaporator and vaporizes. The compressor continuously draws the gas generated in the evaporator and compresses it into high-temperature and high-pressure vapor. The refrigerant vapor is then sent to the condenser to exchange heat with the air. After releasing heat, it condenses into liquid. The liquid refrigerant is decompressed after passing through the expansion valve. Then it enters the evaporator to absorb the heat of the cooled object and vaporizes again. This heat exchange process is repeated until the industrial water is cooled to the required temperature.
Application Scope in the Industry
Air Cooled Water Chiller are suitable for a wide range of industrial applications and can accurately control temperatures from 3°C to 50°C, meeting the needs of various industries such as plastics (injection molding, extrusion), plastic packaging, automotive manufacturing, electronics manufacturing, electroplating, chemicals, ultrasonic cooling, printing, etc.
For example, the role of the chiller in the thermoforming machines:
1. Mold cooling and temperature control: In thermoforming machines, molds need to be cooled quickly when the plastic sheet is heated and formed to maintain the shape and quality of the product. The chiller controls the temperature of the mold by circulating cooling water to ensure that the mold maintains a constant low temperature during the molding process, thereby improving molding accuracy and product quality.
2. Accelerate the molding process: In the thermoforming process, cooling time is a key factor affecting the entire production cycle. The chiller can quickly reduce the mold temperature, accelerate the curing of the plastic, shorten each molding cycle, and thus improve production efficiency. This is especially important for large-scale production.
3. Improve product quality: The effective cooling of the chiller can avoid excessive mold temperature, prevent deformation, uneven shrinkage, surface defects and other problems of the product, and ensure the surface finish and dimensional stability of the molded product. Improper mold temperature control may cause lines or irregular shrinkage on the product surface.
4. Extend equipment life: When the thermoforming machine works at high temperature, if the mold and other key components are continuously exposed to high temperature, it is easy to cause excessive wear or damage. The chiller can lower the overall temperature of the equipment and prevent equipment damage due to overheating, thereby extending the service life of the machine and reducing maintenance costs.
